Inicio » Direct Drive Wheel Bases
The Direct Drive base is the most critical component of any professional sim racing setup. By connecting the wheel directly to the motor without belts or gears, you achieve instant, detailed, and unfiltered transmission of everything that happens on the virtual track.
At Bolori, we have the complete range of state-of-the-art bases, designed to offer the highest precision, Force Feedback (FFB) fidelity, and durability on the market. If you’re looking to take your lap times to the next level and experience maximum realism, explore our catalog of professional bases.

Add to cartA Direct Drive (DD) wheelbase uses a direct-drive electric servo motor to transfer force straight to the steering wheel, eliminating the need for belts, gears or pulleys.
This design removes mechanical latency, low-speed cogging and the loss of detail typically found in belt-driven or gear-driven wheelbases. The result is faster, smoother and significantly more detailed Force Feedback (FFB), allowing you to feel every nuance of the virtual track with exceptional precision.
In practice, this means you can detect the exact moment the front tyres begin to lose grip, distinguish between aggressive and smooth kerbs, and even feel subtle surface imperfections such as expansion joints or changes in road texture.
Modern Direct Drive wheelbases also feature high-resolution encoders (typically 20–24 bit), active cooling systems for long endurance sessions and fully configurable Force Feedback algorithms that can be fine-tuned for each simulator, including iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, Le Mans Ultimate, Rennsport and many more.
Whether you’re just getting started in sim racing or you’re an experienced competitive driver, there’s a Direct Drive wheelbase to suit every level—from entry-level 9 Nm models to professional-grade 28 Nm systems designed to reproduce every detail of the virtual track.
A practical guide based on torque output and driver profile:
5–9 Nm (Entry Level): Your first Direct Drive upgrade. A huge step forward from belt-driven racing wheels, offering a dramatic improvement in precision and immersion.
12–15 Nm (Intermediate): Ideal for experienced sim racers who regularly compete online and want stronger, more detailed Force Feedback.
18–20 Nm (Advanced): Designed for competitive sim racers, online leagues and amateur esports teams seeking professional-level performance.
23–28+ Nm (Professional): Built for professional racing drivers, esports competitors, commercial simulators and driver training centres where maximum realism is essential.
At Bolori, we carefully select every Direct Drive wheelbase based on engineering quality, ecosystem maturity and long-term after-sales support. These are the brands we proudly offer:
Simagic: Official Simagic distributor in Europe. Featuring both the Alpha ecosystem (Alpha, Alpha Ultimate) and the latest Alpha EVO range (Sport 9 Nm, EVO 12 Nm, Pro 18 Nm and Ultra 28 Nm). Every model uses Simagic’s Zero Cogging servo motor technology, a 21-bit encoder and the powerful SimPro Manager software. Our top recommendation for the vast majority of sim racers.
VRS DirectForce: The DFP15 (15 Nm) is an outstanding choice for competitive drivers looking for a premium high-density servo motor and exceptional manufacturing quality. Combined with the highly configurable TrueDrive software, it offers one of the most refined Force Feedback experiences available.
Installing a Direct Drive wheelbase involves much more than simply attaching a steering wheel. These are the essential components you’ll need to complete your sim racing setup:

Nm measures the maximum torque the motor in the base can generate. A higher Nm rating indicates the base has more power to replicate the real-world steering resistance of a race car. Furthermore, a base with more Nm has a wider “dynamic range,” meaning it can clearly transmit micro-details of the road surface even when cornering at high speed.
For 9 Nm motors, you can use rigid tubular cockpits or very robust table mounts. However, for 12 Nm motors and above, it is highly recommended to use a cockpit made of structural aluminum profiles. The torsional forces and power peaks of these motors can flex or damage lightweight structures.
The bases use specific Quick Release systems. Simagic bases, for example, are fully compatible with rims and wheels from their own ecosystem wirelessly. If you want to use third-party wheels, you’ll generally need a separate USB cable connection to your PC and a compatible Quick Release adapter.
Yes, each ecosystem has its own control center (like SimPro Manager for Simagic products). From this software, you can update the motor firmware, adjust the force feedback intensity, dampen unnecessary vibrations, and create specific profiles for each simulator (iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, etc.).
No, in this store category you’re only buying the motor (the base) along with its power supply and connection cables. If you’re looking for a complete, ready-to-use set that includes a wheel and pedals with an added discount, we recommend checking out our Complete Simracing Packs section.
By default, the vast majority of professional-grade Direct Drive docks are optimized and designed for exclusive use on PCs, where telemetry software is used to its full potential. If you require console compatibility, please contact support for advice on authorized adapters or specific compatibility rings.
As with the rest of our store, you can finance your base purchase securely and flexibly through seQura, conveniently splitting the payment into 3, 6 or 12 months according to your needs.
For in-stock items, shipping takes 24-48 business hours to mainland Spain from our warehouse. For the rest of Europe, the usual delivery time is 3-5 business days. All orders are shipped with tracking and require a signature upon delivery.
For iRacing, we recommend a minimum of 12 Nm (Simagic Alpha EVO 12 Nm or similar); if you’re just starting out, 9 Nm is more than enough. If you compete in esports or train using telemetry, jumping to 18 Nm makes a big difference. Contact us if you’d like a personalized recommendation based on your setup and main game.
